ABOUT CE STOCKDOGS
Welcome! We are a family ran cow calf & sheep operation in South Dakota. We strive to raise border collies that are strong, confident dogs that will perform in a ranch setting and trial arena alike. We depend on our dogs for help with all classes of cattle and sheep; the versatility of a good border collie is unmatchable. All of our dogs are proven on different classes of stock before producing. We make crosses carefully and thoughtfully, putting an emphasis to make a cross that will hopefully produce complete pups, that will WORK! We not only put a huge emphasis on work, but disposition and health are also extremely important in our breeding dogs. Our dogs work around our small children daily. We believe in socializing and exposing pups to as much as possible to help create a confident dog that will take things in stride. We also health test our dogs via optimal selection. This is another tool we use to make ethical decisions when making crosses; healthy dogs are vital.
PS HOOK
Hook is one of our stud dogs. We’ve been quite blessed with Hook, and are pleased with his pups. He has been a freak since a pup, and has endless style, stock sense, feel, and work to him. He works pairs exceptionally well, knowing how to read mama cows and meeting every cow with tooth to put her in her place. He is a very tough dog that bites both ends and a front foot. He has quite a few pups out there, and they are proving to keep his incredible brain, sense, and a hard bite to both ends.
RAVEN
Raven is a stellar young home raised female we kept. She is a Hook daughter and is proving herself to be a useful, strong ranch hand on both cattle and sheep. She is confident, hard biting, with a great head on her shoulders!
CS SAGE
Sage has been our main brood female for the last couple litters. Sage is an intense, stylish, quick and catty little dog that bites hard and clean to the nose, heel and front foot. She has a pushy, forward moving nature that makes her perfect for cleaning out lots, lanes, and working pokey stock. Sage has produced some solid, tough ranch dogs and we’ve been tickled to be able to start and train on some of them.
STEELE
Steele is a big, long legged female that is one of the hardest biting, most driven dogs we have been around. She covers ground with incredible speed, and loves stopping cattle that want to break. She is incredibly intense and can be a handful to handle. She bites a head, front foot and heel extremely hard, and is ready to go at all times.
We usually have a couple of litters a year; we take down contacts for those interested in being on the wait list. Check out our availability page for upcoming litters! Pups sold at weaning will be well socialized, have their first set of vaccinations, and have multiple rounds of deworming. The availability of older prospect pups and started and trained dogs varies throughout the year.
